Description
When it comes to the Kilimanjaro Gear List, packing light is the key. All organized trips by Patrol Africa Tours and Safaris come with a large team of people including guides, cooks, and porters. The Kilimanjaro Porters carry your main bag as well as tents, kitchen equipment, food, fuel, tables, and chairs.
Now while on the plus side, it becomes easier for you to conserve energy and focus on reaching the summit successfully. But on the downside, you have a weight limit to stick to. Also, it is our responsibility to be aware of the welfare of porters during your Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing. Patrol Africa Tours and Safaris brings you our comprehensive and accurate Kilimanjaro Gear List.
Footwear: Footwear is one of the most important parts of your Kilimanjaro Gear List. Choosing the right pair of hiking boots and/or sneakers is a task of supreme importance. You will need high-quality trekking boots, gaiters, and hiking socks for your Kilimanjaro Hike.
Trekking Boots:You need waterproof hiking boots specially designed for hiking in cool to cold conditions. Choosing the appropriate hiking boots is of utmost importance. You’ll find many attractive options on the market.
Running Shoes: Comfy, lightweight running shoes are recommended for pre-and-post trip travel and any off-mountain use.
Hiking Socks: Hiking socks are a must during Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing. Cotton socks are not ideal as they retain sweat and give you blisters. We suggest you pack a good pair of woolen socks.
Gaiters:Gaiters will keep your trekking pants and boots clean during the trek. Thus, making your clothing more pleasant to put on. Also, gaiters will be very effective in protecting your trekking pants from the edgy rocks which are ubiquitous on Mt. Kilimanjaro.
