Materuni Waterfalls
Description
Materuni Waterfall is a booming waterfall just 15-kilometers from Moshi Town. When combined with a coffee tour in the village, it makes for a perfect day trip before or after your Mount Kilimanjaro climb. With about eight kilometers of walking throughout the day and 300 meters of incline, this adventure is a great warm-up for the legs while also getting to immerse yourself in the local culture. The tour begins by observing the entire process of making a cup of coffee, from seed to mug. After a locally produced lunch, you head off to explore the massive Materuni Waterfall.

1Day 1:
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 9:30 am and set off on the short twenty-minute drive to the village of Materuni, located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, we'll embark on a hiking route to the Materuni Waterfalls. The trail, which is around an hour long, will take us through lush green vegetation and past the houses of the Chaga people who live here, one of the largest ethnic groups in Tanzania. During your trek, your guide will tell you all about the Chaga way of life. On reaching the waterfall, you'll be left speechless by the sheer size of the falls. From the bean to the cup, we'll see how natural coffee is roasted, and of course - you'll get to taste it too! At the end of the day, we'll return to the car and make the return journey to Moshi, where you'll be dropped back off at your hotel at around 5:30 pm.
